Borey in Chroy Changvar vs Khan Kambol

Where is Chroy Changvar?

Chroy Changvar is just across the Chroy Changvar Bridge, or Cambodian-Japanese Friendship Bridge, from the centre of Phnom Penh. When you are standing on the riverfront this is the area directly in front of you just across the Tonle Sap.

However most borey in Chroy Changvar are not located on the area adjacent to downtown Phnom Penh but in Prek Lieb stretched along National Road 6. Notable borey in Chroy Changvar include Peng Huoth, Orkide Villa and Chip Mong.

Shopping in Chroy Changvar

Prek Lieb is lacking in amenities and shopping malls. Really this is just a long main road leading off towards Kampong Thom and Siem Reap. There are some stores and coffee shops such as Lucky Supermarket and Starbucks, but these are mainly located close to the Chroy Changvar Bridge.

Infrastructure in Chroy Changvar

The area around Chroy Changvar stretching off into Kandal province, does have some infrastructure, such as the Win Win Memorial, the new National Stadium, and Garden City Golf Club.

Comparisons with Khan Kambol

Both Chroy Changvar and Kambol are slightly removed from the downtown area, as are most borey in Phnom Penh. However, while most of the borey developments in Chroy Changvar are stretched out in Prek Lieb some distant removed from the Chroy Changvar Bridge, Borey Williams in Khan Kambol is close to the popular Khan Sen Sok district with its AEON Mall 2 and other retail facilities. One downside of living in Chroy Changvar is that the only realistic way into town is across the bridge, meaning that if it is gridlock you really just have to wait.
